What
size GoldenRod® do I need?
Since you can't overprotect your valuables, we strongly recommend
using the longest GoldenRod® which will fit in an area and
use multiple units where necessary.
How
do I figure the cubic feet in the area I need to protect?
Multiply the length by the width by the height (L x W x H = cubic
feet). Say, for example, you have a cabinet that stands 6 feet
tall, is 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep. 6 x 4 x 2 = 48 cubic feet
which would be amply served by the 12 inch GoldenRod®.
How does GoldenRod® work?
GoldenRod® heats to a surface temperature of less than 150
degrees (which is almost too warm to hold) and circulates warm,
dry air throughout an enclosure on a 24 hour basis. This increases
the temperature of the air inside to several degrees above the
ambient outside temperature. Expansion of the heated air forces
the moist air outside through the vents or loose fitting doors
leaving the dry air inside. In order to work correctly, it is
important to ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
Can I install GoldenRod® myself and
how do I install it?
Yes, you can do it with simple tools. Using a drill and screwdriver,
just attach the universal brackets using the enclosed screws.
Then snap the GoldenRod® in place into the brackets. The GoldenRod®
MUST be mounted horizontally at the bottom of an enclosure to
work effectively.
How many cubic feet does a GoldenRod® cover?
That depends on the model of the GoldenRod®. Pick the correct
GoldenRod® based on the cubic footage you need to cover (see
above) and the color you prefer (gold or white) with standard
plug or detachable. Then select the model that meets or exceeds
that cubic footage based on the chart below:
